Learn to Knit Stocking

Shelley will guide you as we leisurely knit and finish a beautiful heirloom Christmas stocking well in time for the holidays. We'll be using the book Comfort & Joy by Melynda Gosselin Bernardi, which is available in the shop. You'll learn to read charts, knit Fair Isle, knit sock heels and toes and how to duplicate stitch the name. This workshop meets a total of 3 times on 9/20, 9/27, & 10/4 from 10am - 12pm.

Skills necessary to take this workshop: Students must know how to knit and purl and have a good handle on knitting in the round. You may choose your method of knitting in the round but please be proficient in that method.

Homework: Please knit the cuff and be ready to begin the body. 

Cost: $60 + materials

Materials: Highland by Harrisville Designs for your stocking colors according to the pattern you choose, US 6 needles of your choice for knitting in the round i.e. DPN's, Magic Loop (40" cord), 16" circular or two circs. Comfort & Joy by Melynda Bernardi available at Have You Any Wool?
